Robotic Process Automation Consultant
Robotic Process Automation (RPA) is a relatively new field. It consists in deploying automated solutions in the area of Administration (Finance/accounting, HR, procurement, legal, etc.) in a similar way automation was deployed in the manufacturing world from mid-80s. The two main differences are speed and costs. Unlike mechanical robots which are costly, specialized and take years to be designed and produced, RPA are software based, often sold as a SaaS. There are a few pure players, dozens of companies offering RPA deployment services and hundreds of start-ups working in these fields (Robotic Process Automation, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning).
So where should you start?
Most probably by assessing your readiness to embark on the automation journey (maturity of processes, harmonization, organization, governance, ownership, budget, IT infrastructure, BPM, people skills, company culture, sponsorship) and the key steps you must take before deploying those solutions (business cases, ownership, organization, technology, governance).
I have been working in business transformation for the past 15 years and I am now devoting most of my time into “RPA” work (RPA assessment, process review, business cases, process mapping, hand-over to RPA developers), helping medium and large organizations in identifying the solutions that fit their needs.
